Piston rings seal the combustion chamber and facilitate heat transfer from the piston to the cylinder wall, whilst the oil scraper ring ensures proper engine lubrication. Worn or damaged rings result in reduced compression, power loss, increased oil consumption and abnormal engine noise. Replacement with quality OE-specification rings restores compression and performance.
