Drive shafts transmit power from the transmission to the wheel hubs, with CV joints allowing for suspension movement and steering angles. The joints are protected by rubber CV boots which prevent grease loss and contamination. When boots crack or joints wear, distinctive clicking or grinding noises whilst cornering indicate replacement is needed to prevent vibration-related damage.
