The strut mount forms the critical connection between the suspension strut and the vehicle body, also known as a strut bearing. A worn strut mount will produce creaking or grinding noises and should be replaced whenever shock absorbers are serviced or suspension work is undertaken. Due to the considerable installation effort involved, replacement of both mounts is strongly recommended, along with the stop plates which are prone to rust and corrosion.
