Tie rod ends are critical steering components that connect the steering rack to the wheel hub. Once contaminated, the ball joint will deteriorate rapidly, typically failing within a few thousand kilometres. Defective tie rod ends must be replaced to maintain safe steering response and pass vehicle inspection.
