Description

Complete timing chain and valve cover service kit for Porsche 944 S, 944 S2 and 928 four-valve engines.

The timing chain and guide shoes are critical service items on these engines. As the guide shoes age, they become brittle, shrink and can crack, increasing the risk of timing chain failure and potentially severe engine damage. Replacing these components as preventative maintenance is strongly recommended.

This comprehensive kit includes a new timing chain, both upper and lower sliding shoes, fixing screws and a valve cover gasket, providing everything required to complete the repair while the cam cover is removed.

Why Replace Both Guide Shoes?

It is common to find that only the upper guide shoe has been replaced during previous repairs, often to reduce costs. However, the lower guide shoe is subjected to the same ageing process and can become brittle over time.

Replacing both guide shoes together offers the best long-term reliability and helps avoid having to repeat the job later.
