This set of 12 reinforced Dilavar stud bolts is designed for secure cylinder head attachment to the engine cylinders. Since 1974, Porsche transitioned to aluminium cylinders, which expanded significantly under heat, placing considerable stress on standard stud bolts and causing thread stripping or failure. The stronger Dilavar specification was introduced from the Carrera 3.2 onwards to eliminate this problem. Upgrading to Dilavar bolts during engine overhauls substantially improves longevity and reliability.
