This oil pressure piston and spring assembly regulates engine oil pressure within the crankcase. The piston sits in both halves of the crankcase, held in place by a spring and guide sleeve, and controls oil distribution to critical engine components. During engine overhaul or when wear causes scoring that affects oil pressure regulation, replacement of this assembly is recommended.
