This piston oil pressure spring is located in the left crankcase half and works in conjunction with a guide sleeve to regulate engine oil pressure as the piston is screwed into the engine block. During severe engine wear or damage, scoring on the original piston can compromise oil pressure regulation, making replacement essential for proper engine function.
