Fastest £3000 ever, Porsche Boxster story

“I came into a few quid and thought I’d buy a Porsche. By a few quid I only mean £3000. So I looked to see what I could afford. 924’s were plentiful but they didn’t float my boat. So I bought a Boxster 2.7 manual for the full £3k.

Ideally I wanted to get a  911 but I figured that a boxer had six cylinders it was as close as I was going to get on my budget. I jumped in the car full of gusto. headed up the motorway with a pocket full of cash and dreams.

I had 120 mile journey home and I thrashed the living daylights out of it up the motorway down the lanes round the bends and on the streets.

About 10 miles from home there was a weird noise behind me

about 8 miles from home. It felt like the noise was in the car with me at

6 miles from home I felt like I was dragging a bag of spanners behind me.

2 miles from home I was doing 5 miles an hour at

1 mile from home. I rang the AA. I broke it I completely destroyed it on its maiden voyage.

What fun! Monday morning I went back to driving my Kia picanto .

So my journey into Porsche ownership was fast and brief. “
